Ahead of your stay at our self catering Coastguard Cottages in Cromane this year,  we’re sure you’re already making a  ‘see and do list’  whilst travelling around our beautiful Kerry countryside. Whether you are boating along the Lakes of Killarney, catching some waves at Rossbeigh Beach or walking the many well worn trails within The Reeks District, we just couldn’t resist telling you all about the exceptional mobile cafes on our list!

Here’s our round-up (in no particular order) of all the best spots to get your caffeine fix (and definitely grab a snack or sweet treat) within 30 minutes of Cromane.

Located just off the Ring of Kerry and only 30 minutes from Killarney along the Wild Atlantic Way in Cromane is the quaint and quirky Boathouse.

The Boathouse serves a variety of barista beauties including; specialised Lattes, Americano’s, Cappuccino’s, Flat White’s, Mocha’s and the very popular Hot Chocolate with all the works! Not to mention our array of Tea’s and juices for the kids.

For those with a sweet tooth, they have a delicious array of fresh bakes and treats to enjoy on the beach. With ingredients being sourced locally, the menu changes all the time so keep an eye on their social media for bakes of the day and opening times.

With ambitious dreams and determination, the owners Toni & Fionan, hope to showcase the best of what Cromane has to offer, both for visiting tourists and our fellow community with comfortable seating, panoramic views and a Maritime craft shop for all to enjoy in due course.

Owners Dan & Nicole met while travelling. Dan, is local enough (from Cromane) and had to travel to the other side of the world to meet a stella Kiwi girl, Nicole who couldn’t resist a Kerry accent and now proudly calls Glenbeigh home with Dan.

A trip to Upcycle Mobile cafe should be put on your list if you are in the area where top class coffee and good company is always on the menu.

This lively town on a hill is best known for one of Ireland’s oldest, longest and unusual festivals, Puck Fair held annually in August.

The coffee dock serves barista quality coffee as well as range of freshly baked goods. All allergens are catered for. Patchinos uses all local suppliers. Gabi bakes (Killorglin), Foghliu Cash & Carry (Killorglin), Killarney Coffee Roasters and as well as using compostable cups and lids from Delpac (Ballinskelligs) – always a winner in our books!

Fox in the Box is a new local mobile coffee house situated in the Fair Field, Caherciveen.

Fox in the Box has only been open a few short weeks, but in that time they have built up a reputation for our great tasting artisan baked goods. Having a pastry chef as part of the team certainly helps, and the talented Kate Morrisey has garnered a loyal following for her incredible cinnamon buns and Brookies (a combination of the best bits of a brownie and a cookie – chocolate heaven!
