Cromane RC in conjunction with Jacks Coastguard Restaurant organised a fantastic fund raising weekend to raise much needed funds to purchase a new one design boat. The club has recently experienced a surge in new members, and this boat is essential in order to accommodate Cromane’s growing club. The events would not have been possible if not for the amazing community support from club members, volunteers, local businesses and the team at Jacks’.

To start the weekend off we organised a Rowing Club Gala nights entertainment in our Marquee with Dinner, Comedy Skit by Bernard Casey, music with The Reel Deal followed by DJ Donal late into the night! Prize’s on the night were donated from local businesses.

The celebrations continued on to Sunday’s Cromane Regatta with our Senior Lady’s crew who came first after a lot of hard work and dedication – Grainne Keary Sandra Healy Kerry Lisa Shea and Pauline Moroney and Cox Liam Teahan! As well as some fantastic wins with the Minor Boys coming first and the Senior Men claiming third.

A fantastic family day full of entertainment with the Regatta, Jacks All You Can Eat BBQ, Music Bouncy Castle & Face Painting. Money was raised through the BBQ and a fundraising Rubber Duck Race.

The weekend raised over €6000 and the club was able to purchase their new boat ”The Summer Silver” just in time for the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships in Waterville.
